This area is situated on the south eastern coast of the island of Oahu, and is positioned inside a volcanic crater or cone. Hanauma Bay is a very popular destination for both tourists and the people who live on the island of Oahu. To make some more area for swimming, portions of the reef were cleared by using dynamite.

Another one of the beautiful places is Pearl Harbor, which is a harbor on this island. Pearl Harbor is located due west of Honolulu. The harbor itself, as well as most of the lands which surround the harbor, are a deep water naval base belonging to the navy of the United States of America. The United States Pacific Fleet also has its headquarters on Pearl Harbor. When the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7 in the year 1941, the United States of America was brought in World War Two.

The Valley of the Temples is also a very beautiful place on the island of Oahu. It is a memorial park and is situated on the eastern or the windward side of the island. The area of the park is very vast and lush. It over looks the town of Kane'hone, and the rolling green hills of the park lie on the base of the Ko'olau Mountains.
